  • Here is a recipe for Moussaka

  • Moussaka

    large eggplant

  • 1

    pound ground beef or lamb

  • Olive oil

  • 2

    medium onions, chopped

  • 2

    cloves garlic, minced

  • 1

    teaspoon salt

  • 1/2

    teaspoon thyme

  • 1/2

    teaspoon oregano

  • 1/2

    teaspoon nutmeg

  • 1/2

    teaspoon cinnamon

  • 2

    tablespoons chopped parsley

  • 1

    can of crushed tomatoes

  • 1/2

    cup white wine

  • 2

    egg whites

  • 2

    tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

  • Sauce

  • 3

    tablespoons butter

  • to

    guar gum to thicken or add an extra egg yolk)

  • 1 1/2

    cups cream or half and half

  • 2 3

    3 egg yolks..beaten

  • 1/2

    teaspoon salt

  • 1/4

    teaspoon pepper

  • dash of nutmeg and dash of cinnamon

  • to

    butter. Stir in guar gum , stirring constantly. Slowly stir in the cream or half and half. Return to heat and stir until the sauce thickens. Add Nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and pepper into the sauce. Blend well.
