Ingredients

  • 1 lb easy peel shrimp, large
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 C jasmine or popcorn rice
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1/2 C white wine
  • milk (enough to make cream sauce)

Preparation

Step 1

Begin cooking rice in separate pot.

Melt 1/2 stick butter in heavy saucepan. Add flour and mix well. Slowly add the milk until you achieve medium cream sauce.

In skillet, melt 1/2 stick butter. Slowly saute green onions and shrimp until almost pink. Add garlic, pepper, salt and parsley and simmer 2 minutes. Incorporate cream sauce into shrimp and sir constantly while adding wine. Simmer 3-4 minutes then turn of the heat. Let set 2-3 minutes. Add rice and adjust seasoning if necessary.
