Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 2 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 TBS sugar
  • 1 TBS ground cinnamon

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 400 F. Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar, butter, shortening, eggs & vanilla in a large bowl. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda & salt.

2. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Mix 3 TBS sugar and the cinnamon; roll balls in mixture. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

3. Bake 8 - 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Cool completely on wire rack.
