Ingredients
- 1 qt milk (I use 1/2 & 1/2)
- 1/4 C raw long grain rice
- 1/2 C sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp grated nutmeg

Step 1
Preheat oven to 300 °F. Mix milk, sugar, rice, salt in a 6-cup buttered casserole and bake for 2 hours….stirring mixture every 1/2 hour.
After 2 hours, add vanilla and nutmeg and continue baking without stirring about 1/2 hour longer or until rice is tender.
