Stuffed Meat Roll and Mushroom Sauce 0 Picture

Ingredients

  • 4 tbs. butter
  • 2 tbs. minced onions
  • 4 cups soft bread crumbs (shredded fresh bread)
  • 1/2 cup finely diced celery
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbs. chopped parsley
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter and add onions. Cook until tender, but not browned. Add bread crumbs, celery, parsley, 1/2 tsp. salt, dash of pepper. Mix lightly and reserve.
Combine beef, milk, 1/2 tsp. salt and pepper. Mix in 1 cup of stuffing. Put sheet of wax paper on the counter. Roll or press out the meat flat, about 9 X 11 inches. Spread remaining stuffing on the meat and roll up like jelly roll. Place in shallow pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Mushroom Sauce:
1 can of drained mushrooms. Add enough water to make one cup. Add 1 tsp. flour, 1/4 tsp. salt to dripping in pan and stir until smooth. Add liquid and cook stirring constantly until it thickens and comes to a boil. Heat to serve and add mushrooms.
