Preparation
Step 1
Open biscuit cans.
Cut out center of each uncooked biscuit with a 1-inch round cookie cutter and reserve centers.
Pour peanut oil into a large Dutch oven or large, heavy saucepan to a depth of 2 inches. Warm over medium heat until oil registers 350°F on a deep-fry thermometer or bubbles vigorously when a doughnut is lowered in.
Fry doughnuts and holes in batches (don’t crowd pan) until golden, flipping once. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels using a slotted spoon. Dip doughnuts in glaze and top as desired while warm.
For glazes:
Strawberry Jam + Reese’s Pieces
Vanilla Glaze + Trix Cereal: Beat 1 cup confectioners’ sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, and 2 Tbsp milk until smooth. Tint pink if desired.
Lemon Glaze + Coconut Flakes: Beat 1 cup confectioners’ sugar, 1 tsp grated lemon zest, and 2 Tbsp lemon juice until smooth. Tint yellow if desired.
Mocha Glaze + Sprinkles: Beat 1 cup confectioners’ sugar, ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder, and 3 Tbsp strong coffee until smooth.
Orange Glaze + Cocoa Krispies: Beat 1 cup confectioners’ sugar, 1 tsp grated orange zest, and 2 Tbsp orange juice until smooth. Tint orange if desired.
