Ingredients

  • 1 head lettuce or leaf lettuce
  • ½ t salt
  • 2 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • ½ c cider vinegar
  • 1 T sugar
  • 1 hardboiled egg

Preparation

Step 1

Shred lettuce and place in hot serving dish. Sprinkle with salt and let stand 10 min. Cook bacon until crisp. Remove from fat and cook onion in fat until tender. Add vinegar and sugar; when hot pour over lettuce, mix with fork, sprinkle with bacon, and garnish with slices of egg. Serve at once.
