Ingredients

  • SAUCE:
  • 1/2 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 1/3 cup unseasoned bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup splenda
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2/3 cup cold water
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

2. To make the meatballs, in a large bowl, combine the ground
beef, milk, egg, onion, breadcrumbs, parsley, salt and pepper.
Using slightly wet hands, roll the mixture into 1inch balls and
place on an ungreased baking sheet.

3. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the centers are no longer pink.

4. To make the sauce, in a small saucepan, combine the
ketchup, vinegar, sweetener, worcestershire sauce, water,
and cornstarch. Place over medium heat and simmer until
thickened and clear. Place the meatballs in the sauce, or
pour sauce over meatballs and serve hot.
