Ingredients
- 3 cups prepared prunes (about 2 pounds)
- 1 cup water, divided
- 5 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 box powdered pectin

Preparation
Step 1
Wash, pit, chop or grind plums. Combine with 1/4 cup water in saucepan. Bring to boil; cover and simmer 5 minutes. Measure 3 cups into large bowl; add sugar. Let stand 10 minutes. Combine remaining 3/4 cup water and pectin in small saucepan. Bring to boil and boil hard 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir into fruit; continue stirring for about 3 mnutes (a few sugar crystals may remain). Ladle quickly into containers (of not more than one pint capacity). Cover at once with tight lids. Let stand at room temperature until set, up to 24 hours. Store in freezer up to 1 year.
