Ingredients

  • 1/2 # butter
  • 1 C sugar
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 C water
  • 1/4 C corn syrup
  • 1/2 C chopped almonds
  • 1/3 # semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

1. add sugar, salt, corn syrup and butter to pot.
2. pour water around the edge of pot to wash any sugar to the middle.
3. bring to a boil, stirring a bit until all is incorporated.
4. continue boiling to 290 degrees.
5. pour into buttered pan.
6. allow to set.
7. melt chocolate in a double boiler, spread over the toffee, sprinkle with chopped almonds.
8. break candy into pieces.
