Ingredients

  • 4 cups breadcrumbs (leftover biscuits or loaf bread)
  • 4 cups egg cornbread (use several eggs to make, use white meal)
  • 1/2 cup hopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teas. sage
  • 3 cups chicken broth or turkey
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup milk

Step 1

Toast bread for crumbs. Crumble in large bowl. Add onion, celery, and seasonings. Add hot broth to soft mix. Mix well. Add butter and milk. Mix should be very soft to allow for loss during baking. Add more broth if necessary. Pour into greased pan and bake 350 for about 1 hour, until well browned.
