Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 packet low sodium taco seasoning
  • 1 (10 ounce) can/jar organic kidney beans, drained
  • 1 (10 ounce) can/jar organic chili beans
  • 1 (10 ounce) can/jar organic black beans, drained
  • 1 (10 ounce) can/jar pinto beans with jalapenos
  • 1 (20 ounce) can/jar tomatoes, diced or chopped
  • 1 (2.25 ounce) can/jar tomato sauce or tomato paste
  • 1 cup red wine (anything you would drink)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • You could use ground beef or chicken instead of turkey.

Preparation

Step 1

Brown turkey meat, garlic, onion, and taco seasoning in a nonstick skillet.

Put beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce or paste (use tomato sauce for a thinner chili; tomato paste for a thicker version), wine, salt and pepper into the slow cooker. Add turkey mixture.

Stir and set to low if you want to cook it all day, 4 hours on high if you want it sooner. It’s already cooked so you are just heating it through and letting the flavors combine.
