Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups quick- or old-fashioned oats, uncooked
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ or finely chopped nuts
  • 6 crisply cooked veggie bacon slices, crumbled

Step 1

Beat together butter, sugar, egg and vanilla until well blended. Add combined flour, soda and salt; mix well. Stir in oats, cheese, wheat germ and veggie bacon. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet; bake in preheated 350 F oven for 12 to 14 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire cooling rack. Store in loosely covered container in refrigerator or at room temperature.
