Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar, sifted
- 1 c. butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. almond extrace
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- Granulated sugar

Step 1
Cream sugar and butter, then mix in egg and vanilla/almond extracts. In another bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar; mix dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Cover and refrigerate 2-3 hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Divide chilled dough in half and roll it out to a 1/4 inch thickness. Lightly grease baking sheets. Cut the dough with a floured cookie cutter; sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 9 minutes.
