Ingredients
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 1 ½ tsp. vanilla
- 4 eggs
- 2 ¼ cups cake flour, sifted
- 1 ½ tsp. baking powder
- ¾ cup chopped maraschino cherries, drained well
- ½ cup pecans, chopped
- ½ cup pecans, finely chopped

Step 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees, grease and flour a 10 inch tub pan.
Combine the cream cheese, butter, sugar, and vanilla. Mix at medium speed until well blended. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift together 2 cups of the flour and the baking powder. Gradually add the flour mixture to the cream cheese mix, mixing well. Toss the remaining flour with the cherries and coarsely chopped nuts and fold into the cheese batter..
Sprinkle finely chopped pecans onto the pan. Pour the batter into the pan and bake 1 hour and 10 minutes.
