Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground Jimmy Dean sausage
  • 5 cups (1 lg + 1 sm jar) thick spaghetti sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 cups small curd cottage cheese
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 8 oz uncooked lasagne noodles

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350*

Brown beef in large saucepan and drain. Add sauce and water and simmer 10 minutes. In a bowl, combine remaining ingredients except noodles.

Pour 1 cup sauce mixture into bottom of 13x9 pan. Layer 3 pieces uncooked noodles and then cover with another 1 1/2 cups sauce. Spread 1/2 of the cheese mixture over sauce. Repeat layers of noodles, sauce and cheese. Top with layer of noodles and then remaining sauce. Sprinkle with a little extra cheese if you have it on hand.

Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes. Allow to stand at least 10 minutes prior to cutting.
