Eggnog Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 C butter
- 1 1/2 C sugar
- 1/2 C eggnog
- 2 t vanilla
- 1 egg
- 2 1/2 C flour
- 1 t baking powder
- 1 t cinnamon
- 1 t nutmeg plus additional for sprinkling
- Eggnog Icing
- Preheat oven to 325.

Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter and sugar with mixer. Add eggnog, vanilla and egg. Beat until smooth. Add flour, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg and beat at low speed until dry ingredients are moistened. Measure out desired size, about a rounded tablespoon, roll into ball. Then flatten slightly on baking sheet. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg before baking. Bake for 12 minutes at 325, checking every minute after until bottoms are slightly browned. Transfer to cool, flat surface. After cooled, spread on icing and sprinkle lightly with nutmeg.
Eggnog Icing:
3 C powdered sugar
1/4 C softened butter
1/3 C eggnog or more
1 t vanilla
In mixer bowl, beat powdered sugar and butter until well blended. Gradually beat in eggnog an vanilla and beat until icing is smooth.
