Ingredients
- Things to Dip:
- ½ lb. shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ lb. shredded swiss cheese
- ½ tsp. garlic salt
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 cup milk
- ¼ cup burgundy wine (Muscatel, Merlot)
- Dash Tabasco
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- Alton Brown recommends splash lemon juice to reduce stringy-ness
- • Crusty French bread, day old is great
- • Apple slices wash in lemon juice to prevent browning.
- • Red potatoes, cooked and browned
- • Sausage slices, browned (I Prefer Aidelle’s Chicken Apple)
- • Raw veggies
- • Shrimps? cooked

Preparation
Step 1
1. Melt butter and stir in flour (use more if desired).
2. Add milk, garlic salt, Tabasco, and stir until thickened.
3. Add cheeses in small amounts until melted. (add lemon juice).
4. Add wine and stir until bubbly.
5. Transfer to fondue pot and dip in cubes of:
• Crusty French bread, day old is great
• Apple slices wash in lemon juice to prevent browning.
• Red potatoes, cooked and browned
• Sausage slices, browned (I Prefer Aidelle’s Chicken Apple)
• Raw veggies
• Shrimps? cooked
