Ingredients

  • 1/2 c butter or margarine
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 2 eggs,beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 3/4 c flour
  • TOPPING
  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 c chopped walnuts

Preparation

Step 1

Blend butter and sugar together
Add eggs and vanilla and beat well
Combine sour cream and soda (the cream should double in volume)
Sift the flour and baking powder
Add alternately the sour cream mixture and the dry ingredients to the creamed butter,sugar and eggs mixture
Beat well
Spread half the batter in a greased 9 x 9 cake pan
Sprinkle with half the topping mixture
Cover with the remaining batter and then with the rest of the topping
Bake in a 350 F oven for 45 min
This can be reheated wrapped in foil
