Ingredients
- 1 loaf of French bread
- 1 1/2 stick butter
- 1 small onion (red or yellow), finely chopped
- 1 tablespoons poppyseeds
- 12-15 thin slices Swiss cheese about 1 pound
- 2 teaspoons dried mustard
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350
slice top lengthwise off top of French bread
Slice the loaf of bread (each slice about 1 inch thick) but don't cut all the way through the bottom of the loaf
In a pan over medium heat melt the butter and add onions,sauteing until onions are soft. Add poppyseeds, mustard and lemon juice then pour the mixture between all the slices of bread.
Put 1-2 slices of cheese between each slice of bread. Wrap the bread in foil, but leave the top open. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the top of the bread is slightly brown. Serve immediately
