Ingredients

  • Meat:
  • 1 head white cabbage
  • 1 head green cabbage -loose long leaves
  • 2-3 big onions
  • 6-8 big potatoes
  • 2 tsp. Caraway seeds
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • Salt and pepper
  • 3-4 lb. Hamburger meat
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 Cloves of Garlic
  • 2 Big Onions
  • Salt and pepper

Step 1

First mix hamburger with eggs, chopped onions, garlic and salt and pepper. Fry it all in a big pan until all the juice is dissipated, put in a big soup pot, add a cup of water (or 14 oz. Can beef stock), so it does not burn. After that put in layers: the sliced cabbage and diced potatoes, add caraway seed, salt and big pieces of onions (ie: quartered), 2 cubes of bouillon. Stir everything around, add 2 more cups of water (or beef stock). Let it boil lightly for 20 minutes. Test the potatoes, if they are still a bit hard, let simmer a bit longer. Last taste off with black pepper. Has to be a bit sharp.
