  • 1 ½ lb 85% lean ground beef
  • ½” thick slice of American cheese
  • 2 Slices White Bread
  • ¼ Cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground pepper

Step 1

Mix bread, milk, garlic powder, salt and pepper together in medium bowl. Mash together with potato masher until combined. Add ground beef and mix with hands until uniformly blended.
Divide meat into 4 even pieces. Cut American cheese slice into 4 pieces. Divide each piece of meat in half again. Make a small pattie and place the cheese inside. Take the other half and form around cheese/meat pattie until cheese is totally concealed inside. Make into a ¾ inch pattie. Repeat with remaining meat and cheese.
Refrigerate while grill is preheating on high for 15 minutes. Turn burners down to medium, add burgers and close grill lid. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes per side.
