Ingredients

  • For simple Fall/Winter syrup:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tsp. The Spice Hunter Pumpkin Pie Spice Blend
  • For sangria:
  • 1 750 ml. bottle red wine
  • 1/4 cup triple sec
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1 1/2 cups apple cranberry juice
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1 cup pomegranate arils (seeds)

Preparation

Step 1

To make the simple syrup, combine sugar, water, and pumpkin pie spice in a small saucepan; bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 3 minutes. Remove from heat, strain, and set aside to cool to room temperature.

Once syrup is cooled, stir together with wine, triple sec, brandy, and juice in a large pitcher. Add fruit and chill well. Serve over ice with fruit if desired.
