Ingredients

  • 1 c butter or marg.
  • 2 1/4 c flour
  • 1/3 c sugar
  • 1 T water
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 3/4 c finely chopped hazel nuts
  • 42 whole hazel nuts
  • 3/4 c sifted icing sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Beat butter until soft. Add 1/2 flour, sugar, water and vanilla. Beat well. Then stir in the rest of the flour and nuts. Shape 2 t of dough around a whole nut. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake @ 325 for 20 min.
Cool then gently shake in bag of powdered sugar to coat.
