Thanksgiving Dressing

This recipe is as close to Mother's as we've tasted.
Double the recipe for a 13 X 9 X 2 pan

Ingredients
- 3/4 c margarine or butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped (1 cup)
- 1 1/2 c chopped celery
- 1 T dried rubbed sage
- 12 c dried bread cubes (l loaf of white bread)
- 1 1/2 t salt
- 1/4 t pepper
- 1 t dried thyme
- 1/2 t dried marjoram
- 1/2 t ground nutmeg
- 1/2 to 1 1/4 c chicken broth

Preparation
Step 1
Melt margarine in a large skillet; saute onions, celery, parsley and sage until onion and celery are tender.
Combine bread cubes with salt, pepper, thyme, marjoram and nutmeg in a large bowl.
Stir in margarine mixture.
Pour in enough chicken broth to moisten cubes.
I add pads of butter on top before putting in oven.
Put in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
