  • 2 cups Pillsbury's Best' All Purpose of Unbleached Flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, well-beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup oil or melted shortening

Step 1

Heat oven to 400*F. Line with paper baking cups or grease [no oil] bottoms only on 12 muffin cups. In medium bowl, combine first 4 ingredients. Stir in remaining ingredients just until dry ingredients are moistened. [Batter will be lumpy.] Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups, filling 1/2 full. Bake at 400*F, for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Run knife around edge to loosen, immediately remove from pan. Serve warm.
