Ingredients

  • 1/4 Warm Water(105-110 Degrees)
  • 2 and 1/2 teaspoons yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of Sugar
  • Oil
  • 2 and 3/4 Cup Sifted All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon and 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 Tablespoons Warm Water
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • and 2 Large Eggs

Step 1

Combine 1/4 Cup Warm Water with Yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar Allow to sit for 10 minutes Stir if not smooth Oil Sides of Large Bowl and set aside With another bowl add sifted flour, 1 Tablespoon and 1/2 teaspoon Sugar and salt in measuring cup measure 1/4 cup plus 2 Tablespoons Warm water and Vegetable Oil and eggs Pour all ingredients into flour well and blend with a wooden spoon Kneed by hand for 7 minutes until smooth and elastic add more flour as needed to avoid stickness 1 Tablespoon at a time Place into oiled bowl and proof(let rise) for 1 and 1/2 hours or uhtil double in size After proofing punch down and kneed air out of dough for 30 seconds Divide dough into 3 equal portions and roll out till about 12" long Braid 3 pieces together tuck ends under place in sprayed/greased loaf pan and proof for about an hour or until dough reaches top of loaf pan and feels some what smooth to the touch Bake on 325 for approx 20-30 minutes or until top and bottom of loaf is a beautiful golden brown Remove from oven allow to sit for 10 minutes then remove from pan and cool on baking screen.
