Badlands Soup

  • 6 cups water
  • 5 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 1/2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 14.5 ounce cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 10.75 ounce can tomato soup
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons chicken base
  • 1 1/2 cups whipping cream



Step 1

Put water in large kettle, then add celery and half of the chopped onion. Place on high heat, stirring occasionally. Brown ground beef with the remaining onion in a medium pan over medium heat. Drain the excess liquid from the cooked ground beef. Add to the kettle of water, celery, and onions. Cook elbow macaroni according to directions on the package. Add to the beef mixture. Add diced tomatoes and tomato soup. Add baking soda and stir. Stir in chicken base and whipping cream. Cook on low heat for 30 minutes stirring frequently.
