Ingredients

  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 1 1/4 c flour
  • 3 eggs,beaten
  • 1 lb white sultanas(450 g)
  • 1 lb fine coconut
  • 1/2 lb orange peel
  • 1/2 lb glazed cherries cut up (red and green)
  • 1/4 lb blanched almonds,sliced
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp almond flavouring

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar
Add beaten eggs and milk
Add dry ingredients in a separate bowl and stir well
Add to the creamed butter and eggs,mixing well
Mix in the remaining ingredients
Bake in tube pan at 275 F for 2 hr with a pan of water
