  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
  • 2 cups mini semisweet chocolate chips
  • Muffins:
  • 1-1/3 cups flour
  • 2/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup sour cream

Preparation

Step 1

For topping, combine brown sugar, melted butter, and flour. Stir in nuts and 1/2 cup chips.

Combine flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. Set aside.

Beat butter, sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually add flour mixture alternately with sour cream. Stir in remaining chocolate chips.

Spoon into greased or paper lined muffin cups, filling about half full. Sprinkle evenly with topping.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove to wire rack and cool completely.
