Ingredients

  • Topping:
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c warm water
  • 1 t sugar
  • 1 c scalded milk
  • 1/4 c shortening
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1 t salt
  • 3-3 1/2 c flour
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 4 T melted butter
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 t cinnamon
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 2 T corn syrup
  • 2/3 c chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Soften yeast in water & sugar. Combine hot milk, shortening, sugar & salt. Cool to luke warm. Add 1 c flour, beat well. Beat in yeast & egg. ADd remaining flour to form soft dough, Let rise in greased bowl until double in size. About 1 1/2 hr.
Punch down and cut in 2 pieces. Roll each out to 12"x18"rectangle. Brush each with 2 T melted marg. Combine 1/2 br. sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle over dough. Roll up and cut each roll into 8 slices.

Topping:
Mix br. sugar, butter & corn syrup in 9"x13"pan. Melt. Sprinkle with pecans and places slices, cut side down, on top. Cover and let rise till double (35-40 min.)
Bake @ 375 for 20 min. Cool 2-3 min. and invert pans.
