Ingredients
- 1 c butter (substitute 1/2 c margarine for a cookie not so crisp)
- 1 c sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp almond or vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 About 2 1/2 c flour

Preparation
Step 1
Cream shortening. Add sugar and cream well. Add egg and extract. Add flour to make a stiff dough. Let stand about an hour. Pinch off a small piece of dough and place in center or tin. With thumbs, press dough evenly inside tin. Place on cookie sheet and bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
