Ingredients
- 3 cups dry white navy beans
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 3 tablespoons corn starch
- a few drops Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup Kraft Barbecue - original sauce
- 1/4 cup Heinz Ketchup
- 250 grams bacon
- 1 medium onion, sliced

Step 1

* Put the dry beans in a large pot, cover with water and soak overnight.
*%{color: royalblue}IN THE MORNING:%*
* Drain, cover with fresh water and bring to the boil, repeat this process 3 or 4 more time, (always with fresh water) until the beans are tender.
*%{color: royalblue}THE SAUCE:%*
* Combine the brown sugar, salt, dry mustard, cornstarch, worchester sauce, molasses, water, barbecue sauce and ketchup in a pot.
* Bring to the boil stirring constantly, cook and stir 1 minute.
*%{color: royalblue}ARRANGE:%*
* Arrange bacon on sides and bottom of bean pot, saving some for the top.
* Add sauce to tender beans, stir then place in bean pot, layering with onion.
* Cover top with remaining bacon.
Cover and bake at 250⁰F for 7 to 8 hours *or*
Cover and bake at 300⁰F for 3 1/2 to 4 hours
Remove cover for last half of baking time. Add more water if needed.
