Fantastic Strawberry Mousse

Ingredients
- 1 10-oz. pkg. frozen strawberries OR 1 pint fresh strawberries, sugared
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2 egg whites
- 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
- Dash salt
- 3 Tbsp sweet red wine

Preparation
Step 1
beat egg whites and sugar until well mixed (will not stiffen like a meringue)
toss in strawberries (do not drain syrup if frozen). Add lemon juice and salt. Add wine, if desired
start at low speed on electric mixer and increase speed gradually, beating for 15 minutes, at the end, you should be on high speed. The mixture will be very stiff and should come to the top of the mixing bowl
spoon into a large glass serving bowl; smooth the top and cover with plastic wrap. Freeze until serving time
can garnish with halved fresh strawberries, chopped nuts, or shaved chocolate
