Ingredients

  • 12 slices of white bread, cubed (crusts removed)
  • 3/4 lbs cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 to 1 1/2 lbs of diced ham or ground sausage
  • 12 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

Place cubed bread in the bottom of a lighlty greased 9x13 baking pan. Spread half of cheese over bread. Spread diced ham or cooked sausage on top of cheese. Combine eggs, milk and spices and pour over ham or sausage. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. let stand overnight in refrigerator. Bake approximately 45 to 60 min. or until center is solid at 350. Cover after baking and keep covered until served.
