Aunt Irene’s Cookies (Soft Sugar Cookies)

Apparently Aunt Irene was autistic because she claims this recipe makes exactly 74 cookies.

Ingredients

• 1 pint buttermilk
• 1/2 C. sour cream
• 3 1/2 C. Granulated sugar
• 1 C. Crisco, melted
• 3/4 tbsp. Vanilla
• 1 tbsp. Baking soda
• 6 1/3 C. Flour

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat over to 400 degrees.
Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
Add sugar, hot Crisco, sour cream, & vanilla.
Add 3 cups flour and mix well.
Add remaining flour.
Bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 min.
