Ingredients

  • 2 lb. Fish
  • Salt
  • Chili powder
  • Vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 inch piece ginger
  • 1 tbsp coriander seed
  • 1 tsp. cumin seed
  • 1 tsp. fenugreek seed
  • 1 tsp. turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 c. yogurt
  • Sliced lemon

Step 1

Wash the fish and sprinkle with salt, chilli powder and a few drops of vinegar. Bake in a hot oven or grill till the moisture has evaporated. Meanwhile make a sauce by grinding the garlic and ginger with the rest of the spices. Heat the ghee and fry the masala paste for two minutes. Beat this into the yogurt and heat the sauce gently till well blended. Pour over the fish and continue baking till the fish is tender. Serve with slices of lemon.
