Cake Red Velvet

Ingredients

• 1/2 c crisco
• 1 1/2 c white sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1/4 c red food colouring
• 2 tsp cocoa
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 c buttermilk
• 2 1/2 c sifted cake flour
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp vinegar

Preparation

Step 1

Cream sugar and crisco until light
Add eggs one at a time and beat 1 min
Put food coloring and cocoa in a cup..Make a paste and add to the above
Add salt
Put vanilla in the buttermilk
Add to the mixture slowy,the milk and the flour
Mix soda and vinegar and add to mixture
Mix again
Bake at 350
Icing-
1 c milk
5 Tbspflour
Mix,cook and cool
Beat 1 c butter with 1 icing sugar and 1 Tbsp vanilla
Add flour mixture
