French Toast Custard

Ingredients

• 10 French Bread Slices Day old
• 5 tablespoons butter melted
• 4 eggs
• 2 egg yolks
• 3 cups milk
• 1 cup whipping cream
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
• 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
• Powdered Sugar to Dust

Preparation

Step 1

Brush both sides of the bread with melted butter and place in a 9x13 pan.
In a large bowl beat eggs and yolks.
Add milk,cream,sugar,vanilla and nutmeg.
Mix well and pour over the bread.
Cover and chill over night. Remove from fridge for 30 minutes before cooking.
Preheat oven to 350 bake 55 to 60 minutes covered.
Dust with powdered sugar. Serve with warm apples and syrup.
