Ingredients
- 1/4 c flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 lb stewing beef cut into 2.5 cm cubes
- 3 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 c stewed tomatoes
- 2 medium onions sliced
- 1 c water
- 1/2 c dry red wine
- 1/4 c maple syrup
- 3 c potato chunks
- 2 c carrot chunks
- 1 c sliced celery

Preparation
Step 1
In a bag,combine flour,salt,ginger,garlic powder and pepper
Add beef and shake to coat
In a dutch oven brown meat in hot oil
Add tomatoes,onions,water,wine and maple syrup. Bring to a boil
Cover and simmer over low heat,or bake in 325 oven 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender
Add potatoes,carrots and celery;cook 30-45 min until vegetables are tender
