Ingredients

  • Yeast Mixture:
  • 1 - package dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup - warm water
  • 1 tsp. - sugar
  • Dough Mixture:
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup - sugar
  • 1/4 cup - oil
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 1 cup - water
  • 3 1/2-4 cups - flour
  • Dipping:
  • 1/2 cup - margarine or butter, melted

Preparation

Step 1

Dissolve yeast and 1 tsp sugar in 1/2 cup warm water.
Let stand.
Beat egg, add 1/2 cup sugar, oil and salt.
Add yeast mixture and 1 cup water.
Add flour until dough is stiff.
Knead and place in greased pan.
Let rise 1 hr and refrigerate overnight.
Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into 1 by 2 inch strips.
Dip each strip in melted margarine or butter.
Lay greased bundt pan overlapping one another.
Let rise and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
Yield: 8 servings
