Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups butter
- 4 cups onions, thinly sliced
- 1 cup flour
- 5 tsp. instant chicken bouillon
- 9 tsp. instant beef bouillon
- 12 cups boiling water
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 1/2 tbsp. salt
- 1 egg yolk, beaten
- 2 tbsp. whipping cream
- Fresh Parmesan cheese, grated

Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter, add onions and reduce heat to low. Cook until onions are soft but not brown, about 45 minutes. Add flour and cook 5- 10 minutes. Dissolve chicken and beef bouillon in the boiling water. Add this to onions. Add pepper and salt, Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. Mix egg yolk and cream. Add a little soup to egg mixture then return to soup. Stir to blend. Pour into mugs and top with cheese.
