Ingredients

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Step 1

Bring water and butter to a rolling boil in a 1-1/2 quart saucepan. Stir in flour and salt. Stir vigorously over low heat for 1 minute or until mixture leaves the pan and forms a ball. Remove from heat. Beat in an egg one at a time. Beat until mixture is smooth and velvety. Drop from spoon onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until dry. Cool. Cut off tops with sharp knife. Scoop out any filaments of soft dough. Whip cream until stiff. Fold in confectioners sugar. Add vanilla. Fill puffs. Replace tops and dust with powdered sugar.
