Ingredients
- 1/4 cup poppy seeds or toasted seseme seeds
- 2 tbsp coarse sea salt
- 2 1/2 tsp or 1 packet dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/4 water
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder

Step 1
On a large, shallow plate, stir together the poppy seeds and coarse salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, stir together the yeast with the 1/4 cup of warm water and sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes. Stir in the oil, 1/4 cup of water, 1/2 cup of flour, nutritional yeast, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder. Slowly stir in the remaining cup of flour. On a lightly floured surface, knead dough until smooth and elastic; add a little extra flour if it's too sticky. Roll out dough and cut into 10 equal pieces. Roll out each piece to desired shape and then coat in poppy seed/salt mixture. Place on baking sheet then repeat with remaining dough. Cover with cloth and set aside in a warm, non-drafty spot and let rise for 20 minutes.
Preheat oven to 400F.
Place baking sheet in oven and bake for 15 minutes. For a crispier breadstick, turn off the oven and let breadsticks sit in oven for another 10 minutes.
