Ingredients
- 24 servings
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (she used half each of white and brown)
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 tablespoon lavender (or a few teaspoons of chopped fresh rosemary)
- 1-1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder

Preparation
Step 1
*Heat* the oven to 350ºF. *Cream* the butter and sugar together until smooth. *Beat* in the egg. *Stir* through the lavender. *Sift* the flour and baking powder and beat in. *Roll* balls and *flatten* on a cookie sheet. (Or, roll into a log, chill in the freezer until firm, slice into rounds, and lay them on the sheet.) *Prick* the top with the tines of a fork in attractive patterns. *Bake* 15 to 20 minutes until browned on top and cooked through. *Cool* on wire racks.
