  • 1 large China Head (Napa) Cabbage
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 large red onion (sliced)
  • 1 large garlic clove (minced)
  • 16 oz cream
  • Flour
  • Seasoning

Step 1

Slice cabbage in half lengthwise and wash thoroughly.

Slice cabbage halves thinly widthwise

Melt butter in large saucepan. Saute onions over medium heat several minutes. then add minced garlic and saute further 2 minutes. Strain through china cap (save butter), put onion and garlic mix aside. Put butter back in saucepan, let heat, add just enough flour to make consistent roux. Cook over low-medium heat stirring constantly with whisk for ten minutes. Add half the cream slowly while stirring with whisk, add cabbage, onion, and garlic mix; season. Boil 15 minutes. Adjust seasoning and cream to consistency.
