Ingredients
- 1 lb dry pinto beans
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- crushed peppers (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 3 garlic cloves (cut in half)
- 2 tbsp. cumin
- 1 smoked pork chop or smoked bacon
- 1 onion chopped
- 4 cups water (or broth and water mixture)
- Seasoning
- salt, pepper and garlic powder

Preparation
Step 1
Wash and soak beans overnight, strain and add to pot with 4 cups of water, spices and seasoning.
Chop bacon and brown in a skillet; add to pot with the onions.
Season to taste and boil on high, covered, until beans are tender (about 5 hours)
