Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp red food coloring
- 1/2 cup crushed candy canes
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Step 1
Preheat oven to 375. Mix butter, powdered sugar, egg, almond extract, and vanilla until smooth. Add flour and salt to butter mixture. Mix well until blended together. Add red food coloring to 1/2 of dough. Use 1 tsp each of red dough and white dough to make ropes and twist together, form candy cane shape. Place on baking sheet. Top with crushed candy canes and granulated sugar. Bake at 375 for about 9 min. You should see lightly browned edges.
