Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp molasses
  • 3 tbsp boiling water
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp cloves

Preparation

Step 1

Beat butter and sugar together until fluffy. In separate bowl mix molasses and boiling water; then add to butter/sugar. Mix flour and spices. Stir in, knead and wrap in plastic and refrigerate one hour. Roll out dough 1/8" thick and cut out shapes. (Use flour on surface to prevent sticking.) Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Cool slightly. Remove and Decorate. (Makes oodles, depending on size!)
