Ingredients
- 1 cup Crisco Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon maple flavoring
- 2 1/2 cups oats (quick or old-fashioned, uncooked)
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

Step 1
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease baking sheet with butter-flavor Crisco.
Combine Crisco, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and maple flavoring in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer till well blended.
Combine oats, flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture at low speed - beat until blended. Increase speed to medium and beat 2 minutes.
Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes or just until beginning to brown and just set. Remove to wire racks to cool.
Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
